Should I wait for PMBOK 8th to be reflected in the exam or just take it now?

PMBOK 8th edition dropped in July and I'm stuck trying to figure out timing. I've been studying with materials aligned to the current exam so now I don't know whether to sit for the exam before PMI updates the ECO or wait it out. PMI usually announces exam changes 6 to 12 months in advance, so the current exam format should stay through at least mid 2026. But what if my study materials become outdated right after I pass? on the flip side, if I wait for the updated ECO, I'm basically starting over with new prep materials and wasting months of study time. Has anyone been through a PMBOK edition change while prepping? and do you regret taking it before or after the update?
I've also heard they're brutal compared to the old format, and now there are five different question types including hotspot and matching

Look just take it now, your study materials won't be outdated after you pass, since you already have the cert, that's what matters. PMI usually grandfathers people in anyway plus if you wait, you're restarting from scratch with new materials like you said
